Celebrating his 14th year in the music industry, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins is an actual urban legend in the flesh! In addition to “Starmaker,” Jerkins has a very big and exciting 2009 already slated. First, he is the executive music producer and wrote eight original songs for the soundtrack of the Walt Disney film Confessions of a Shopaholic (February 13) for producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Rodney will also be launching his video game Music Mogul a revolutionary music-based social networking strategy where bands will compete by building a music scenario and then playing the actual music in the game as users watch on streaming video. Every three months someone will win and the final four will compete for a recording deal on Rodney’s label, Darkchild Records. His partner in this venture is former Vivendi games GM/executive VP. Jerkins will serve as chief creative officer and music supervisor. Second, Jerkins recently signed a deal to executive produce nine albums for Extreme Music, the worldwide production music library unit of Sony/ATV Music Publishing and joins a prestigious group of composers on the Extreme Music roster that include, Quincy Jones, Hans Zimmer, Robbie Nevil, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. Jerkins is currently in the studio producing a new album for Sean “Diddy” Combs. Not to rest on his laurels, this mogul is also in the studio producing for several acts for his label, Darkchild Records and is mulling over several TV and motion picture products for his Darkchild Productions shingle.

•In 2000 Jerkins wins a Grammy Award for Best R&B song for the Destiny’s Child smash hit “Say My Name” – which he produced, as well as a Grammy nomination for his production of Beyonce’s #1 smash “Déjà Vu”.
•In 2006 Jerkins re-teams with Blige for her monster hit “Enough Cryin”.
•Billboard has twice named him as one of the hottest R&B producers in the country.
